This is an Arduino compatible piezo film vibration sensor. It consists of a flexible piezo film and a converter board. The sensor is capable of detecting vibrations, stabilities and touches.
The film is a flexible component comprising a 28 µm thick piezoelectric PVDF polymer film with screen-printed Ag ink electrodes laminated to a 0.125 mm thick polyester substrate with two corrugated contacts. Since the piezo film is shifted from the mechanical neutral axis and bending generates a very high load within the piezo polymer, high voltages (approx. ±90V) are generated. When the assembly is deflected by direct contact, the device acts as a flexible "switch", and the output generated is sufficient to drive MOSFET or CMOS stages directly.
The module has a universal Gravity 3Pin interface that easily connects and plays. It features two digital and analog output signals suitable for a wide variety of applications. The piezo vibration sensor is not only capable of detecting strong vibrations, but also slight vibrations. There is an integrated sensitivity adjustment potentiometer that you can adjust to increase/decrease the output threshold.
