Come into the world with this powerful Phidget bipolar stepper. With a maximum power supply of 30V, it can deliver up to 4A of current to any stepper motor coil. The result is that you can control the position, speed and acceleration of a large bipolar stepper via a port on your VINT hub. Steppers are particularly popular in applications where accurate positioning is important.
Safety and protection
The Phidget Stepper has a number of safety features, as motors have a reputation for damaging unprotected circuits with current peaks when a motor blocks under high load or changes direction. There is a fuse socket with a 5A auto fuse to protect your Phidget in this exact case, and the power terminals are reverse polarity protected if the power supply is wired to the rear. This phidget's VINT connector is isolated from the circuit, so you don't have to worry about damaging your hub or computer if something goes wrong. Make sure this device is in a well ventilated area if you plan to operate it close to its maximum specifications.
Energy saving options
Füfor energy-conscious users, we also allow separate control of current limiting and holding current limiting. If you know that your motor will stop for a longer period of time but still require a small holding torque to maintain its position, you can adjust the holding current accordingly without affecting the operating current limit.
> Make sure the power supply is disconnected before attaching or removing cables to the terminals. Otherwise the Phidget may be permanently damaged.
