The compact D24V5F12 synchronous de-energizing voltage regulator accepts an input voltage of up to 36 V and efficiently reduces it to 12 V with a maximum output current of 500 mA. This regulator offers typical efficiencies between 85% and 93% and has a very low dropout, so it can be used with input voltages as low as a few hundred millivolts above 12V. The pins have a spacing of 0.1″ and are therefore compatible with commercially available lube-free printed circuit boards and perfboards.
The D24V5Fx family of voltage regulators generates lower output voltages from input voltages up to 36 V. They are switching regulators (also called switching power supplies (SMPS) or DC/DC converters) and have a typical efficiency between 80% and 93%, which is much more efficient than linear voltage regulators, especially when the difference between input and output voltage is large. These regulators have an energy saving mode that is activated at light loads. Provides low quiescent current (no-load), making it suitable for low power applications powered by a battery. These regulators are available in eight different fixed output voltages.
