This combustible gas and smoke sensor detects the concentrations of combustible gas in the air and outputs its measured values as analog voltage. The sensor can measure concentrations of combustible gas from 300 to 10,000 ppm. The sensor can operate at temperatures from -20 to 50°C and consumes less than 150mA at 5V. Please read the MQ2 data sheet (184k pdf) for more information about the sensor.
Connections
>Connecting five volts via the heater pins (H) keeps the sensor hot enough to function properly. Connecting five volts to either the A or B pins causes the sensor to output an analog voltage to the other pins. A resistive load between the output pins and ground adjusts the sensitivity of the detector. Please note that the picture in the data sheet for the top configuration is incorrect. The resistive load should be calibrated for your specific application using the equations in the data sheet, but a good starting value for the resistance is 20 kΩ.
