Üoverview
This board is a compact breakout board for the L3GD20H triaxial digital output gyroscope. The L3GD20H is a great IC, but its small, lead-free LGA case makes it hard for the typical student or hobbyist to operate. It also works with voltages below 3.6 V, which can make it difficult to connect 5 V microcontrollers. This support board solves these problems by integrating additional electronics, including a 3.3 V voltage regulator and level shifter circuits, in the most compact package possible. The board is fully loaded with its SMD components, including the L3GD20H, as shown on the product picture.
>The L3GD20H has many improvements over the older L3GD20, including better accuracy and stability, lower power consumption and a much shorter startup time, all in a smaller package that allows the entire carrier board to be made smaller. The L3GD20H also offers a wider range of user definable output data rates, with lower frequencies available that are better suited for human gesture recognition, and a Data Enable (DEN) pen that allows measurements to be synchronized with external triggers.
