This tiny DC motor generates vibration by rotating an eccentric shaft at over 10,000 rpm when operated at 3V. Such motors are commonly found in mobile phones and other devices that use vibrations for tactile feedback, and their small size (11.6 × 4.6 × 4.6 × 4.8 mm) and light weight (0.8 g) allow easy integration into systems with limited space. The motor has 1.5″ leads and is surrounded by a removable rubber sleeve that gives it a flat surface for mounting and prevents it from rattling against what it is mounted on. It is designed to operate at 3 V (2.4 V to 3.5 V recommended) with no polarities (the motor can run clockwise or counterclockwise).
