Product description
The SyRen motor driver is one of the most versatile, efficient and easy-to-use motor drivers on the market.
It is suitable for medium sized robots - up to 30 pounds in combat or 100 pounds for general robotics.
From the box, the SyRen 10 can continuously supply a single brush DC motor with up to 10A.
Peak currents of 15A can be reached for a few seconds.
Overcurrent and thermal protection means you never have to worry about killing the driver by accidentally stopping or connecting an oversized engine.
With only one SyRen driver you can control a motor with: Analog voltage, radio control, serial and packetized serial.
With a SyRen you can build many different robots with increasing complexity over the years.
Owning two SyRens allows you to build differential drive (tank style) robots as they can work together with the built-in mixing.
The operating mode is set with the integrated DIP switches so that no jumpers are lost.
The SyRen has screw terminals - so you can build a robot without soldering.
SyRen is the first synchronous regenerative motor driver in its class.
Regenerative topology means your batteries are recharged when you tell your robot to slow down or reverse.
With SyRen you can also make very fast stops and reverse runs - this gives your robot a fast and manoeuvrable edge.
SyRen has a built-in 5V BEC that can power a microcontroller or RC receiver.
Lithium cutoff mode allows SyRen to work safely with lithium-ion and lithium-polymer battery packs - the batteries with the highest available energy density.
The transistors of SyRen are switched at ultrasonic speed (32kHz), which means that no one will be able to hear your robot Ninja army approaching.
The use of our motor drivers with cheap power supplies is not recommended. Use a battery or insert at least one battery in parallel to a DC power supply.
